THE MOBILITY LAB FOUNDATION WILL BE PRESENT AT THE GLOBAL MOBILITY CALL IN MADRID WITH A STAND SHARED WITH CICLOSFERA CITY, TOGETHER WITH BH-MONTY BIKES AND BLINK
The Mobility Lab will participate in a panel discussion on the ‘Adoption of new modes of sustainable mobility in companies’, organised by the Enterprise Innovative Mobility Summit
This year, Fundación Mobility Lab Vitoria-Gasteiz will be attending the Global Mobility Call, which will be held in Madrid from 19 to 21 November as a benchmark meeting on sustainable mobility. Mobility Lab will be present with a stand shared with Ciclosfera CITY, together with BH-Monty Bikes and Blink. ‘It is a golden opportunity to exchange synergies within the world of mobility and, this year more specifically, the commitment that Vitoria-Gasteiz and Alava have made to the bicycle in its many facets: mobility, manufacturing, last mile distribution, sport and leisure,’ said the director of Mobility Lab, Iñigo Bibao. The stand will also disseminate the bicycle support policies promoted by the Provincial Council and the City Council, such as the Álava Bicycle Strategy and VGbiz: Network of secure bicycle parking facilities.
The Global Mobility Call, which will take place at the IFEMA Madrid exhibition centre, will deal in depth with the present and future of mobility, with the participation of the main players from both the business world and national and international organisations and institutions, from the various sectors involved in the development of sustainable mobility.
‘The presence at this type of international fairs allows us to learn about innovative projects and realities in other countries and communities which can be implemented or adapted to our environment,’ said Mobility Lab director, Iñigo Bilbao. He added that these meetings also allow you to present and exchange opinions on the projects currently being carried out by the Foundation. ‘It is an international event on Sustainable Mobility for people and it brings together all the industries and interested parties with the aim of generating experiences and networking,” said Bilbao.
Workshop on Data Spaces
Within the programme of the Global Mobility Call, the Mobility Vitoria-Gasteiz Foundation will participate on Wednesday, 20th November, in a workshop on data space and in the Innovation Forum, organised by the Future of Cities. In this field, the Mobility Lab, with the help of the Alava Calculation Centre, is working on the construction of a Data Space on Mobility and Logistics in Alava, which will be a key tool for improving mobility management and attracting innovative projects based on data.
He will also be present at one of the Standtrack sessions, a project that the Mobililty Lab Vitoria-Gasteiz Foundation is working on together with EIT Urban Mobility and led by CITET – Centro de Innovación para la Logística y el Transporte de Mercancías (Innovation Centre for Logistics and Freight Transport). This project seeks to improve the distribution of goods in urban environments by means of a standard intermodal platform that facilitates the traceability of packages and communication between agents in the distribution chain and will soon develop a pilot project in Vitoria-Gasteiz.
Also, on Thursday, 21 November, the Enterprise Innovative Mobility Summit will be held, with a round table discussion on the ‘Adoption of new modes of sustainable mobility in companies’, with the participation of representatives from various companies who will explain what has led them to adopt more sustainable mobility solutions.
This round table will be attended by the director of Mobility Lab Vitoria-Gasteiz, Iñígo Bilbao, together with Carmen Marín, Marketing Director, BCD Travel and BCD Meetings & Events; María Gutiérrez, Projects and Services Manager, Pfisterer; Gerardo Gómez, Commercial Director of Corporate Accounts, Enterprise Mobility; Beatriz Aceitón, Sales Director of Travel Agencies and Events, Enterprise Mobility.
‘We want to showcase the projects we are working on at the Miñano Technology Park to improve the mobility of staff who commute from home to work and vice versa in the future’, explained Iñigo Bilbao.
At the GMC Expo,Global Mobility Call will showcase a specialised range of services, solutions and projects that are already shaping the future of this sector from the different public and private stakeholders. It will also form a networking platform that will promote agreements, collaborations and new business and investment opportunities.
For its part, the GMC Congress space will bring together the sector’s top international leaders to address different key thematic axes for the implementation of measures, resources and projects, which will articulate the largest agenda of content on sustainable mobility.
Cities of the world: mobility planning
A new feature of the third edition of Global Mobility Call is the important presence of representatives from numerous cities around the world who will share their progress in mobility, urban planning and investment.
Thus, cities such as Stuttgart, Copenhagen, Brussels, Bologna, Milan, Krakow, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo, Bordeaux, Budapest, Chicago, Boston, Cincinnati, Aurora, Portland, Krakow, Istanbul, Guimaraes, Barcelos, Crete, Athens, Valdivia (Chile), Hermosillo (Mexico), Montería (Colombia), as well as others from Costa Rica, the United Kingdom and Ireland, will be represented at the largest sustainable mobility event held from 19 to 21 November at IFEMA MADRID.
