Who we are

The Fundación Mobility Lab Vitoria-Gasteiz is an innovation hub in urban mobility and logistics, to test new solutions and boost the competitiveness of the economic fabric in Álava province.

Mission

To drive innovation in urban mobility, experiment and test solutions aimed at improving mobility and logistics in Vitoria-Gasteiz and Álava, by opting for the smart use of data and the generation of financial solutions.

Our team

Mobility Lab has a top-level team specialising in urban mobility and logistics

Iñigo Bilbao

Managing Director

Architect (UPV-EHU), PLGP (IESE-University of Navarra) and Specialist in European Projects (SOST-CDTI-Brussels). He worked for 20 years at Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council, taking part in projects such as the introduction of the tram, the integration of the high-speed rail network and the drafting of the Sustainable Mobility Plan. He was a member of the Basque Transport Authority (ATE), a director of the municipal transport company TUVISA, a member of the Board of Trustees of the TECNALIA Foundation and a director of the public company GILSA. He had the privilege of coordinating Vitoria’s activities as European Green Capital 2012, and his time at the INNOVA Foundation has provided him with valuable insight into EU funding. Furthermore, as an expert for the European Commission, he has participated in programmes such as World Cities, the IURC (International Urban and Regional Cooperation) and the EU-Brazil Sector Dialogues.

Maria Suberbiola

Innovation Specialist

An Industrial Design Engineer with a Master’s degree in Strategic Product and Service Design from Mondragon Unibertsitatea, she has built her professional career in fields related to logistics, mobility and innovation, collaborating with organisations such as the Eroski logistics platform, the Basque Country Mobility and Logistics Cluster and Mondragon Unibertsitatea. Her career is characterised by a consistent focus on innovation and the development of public-private collaboration ecosystems. At the same time, she has taught at Mondragon Unibertsitatea, delivering courses such as Human-Centred Design and participatory design. She has taken part in co-creation projects with industrial companies and in team training programmes for the adoption of innovation methodologies, always from a perspective centred on people and active participation. Since 2024, she has been part of Mobility Lab Vitoria-Gasteiz, where she began her role as a European projects officer and currently serves as Technical Head of Innovation. In this capacity, she leads strategic initiatives, including projects related to data spaces and sandbox environments applied to mobility and logistics.

Iñigo Guevara

Administrative Officer

With a bachelor's degree in Business Management and Administration from the University of the Basque Country and a Technical Qualification in Mechanical Project Development. He has extensive experience as an administrative manager, primarily in the construction sector, where he has been involved in major public works projects.

Jihan Ochen

European Projects Specialist

She holds a dual degree in Business Administration and Management and Computer Engineering for Management and Information Systems from the University of the Basque Country, having completed part of her studies at the Blekinge Institute of Technology in Sweden. Her profile combines expertise in business management, technology and innovation. She began her professional career at Accenture, where she worked on information management and analysis, databases, monitoring key performance indicators and translating functional requirements into technical solutions. Since 2025, she has been part of Mobility Lab Vitoria-Gasteiz, participating in innovation projects linked to mobility, logistics, data spaces, Living Labs and sandboxes, as well as in the preparation, monitoring and reporting of regional, national and European projects.

Xabier Amutxastegi

Data Analyst

He holds a degree in Mathematics, with a specialisation in Applied Mathematics, Statistics and Computing, from the University of the Basque Country, and a Master’s degree in Big Data and Data Science from the International University of Valencia. His profile combines a solid background in mathematics and statistics with expertise in programming, modelling and advanced data analysis. He began his career at Kutxabank validating credit risk models, participating in data analysis and processing, the methodological review of models, the evaluation of their performance and the preparation of technical reports. Since 2025, he has been working at Mobility Lab Vitoria-Gasteiz as a data analyst, contributing to mobility and logistics projects linked to the data space. His work focuses on the technical management of projects, including the development of use cases and the analysis of pilot schemes, as well as ensuring data quality and governance and helping to coordinate the development of the data space.
