REGISTRATION AND FULL PROGRAMME NOW AVAILABLE FOR THE CONFERENCE ON DATA SPACES APPLIED TO LOGISTICS AND LAST-MILE DISTRIBUTION
The event, directed at companies in Álava, will introduce this technology through real projects, success cases and motivational experiences. It will feature representatives from the Álava Computing Centre, Adif and the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Administration, among others.
The Mobility LAB, which aims to raise awareness of the potential of data spaces in intermodal logistics and last-mile urban distribution, has organised a conference for companies in Álava in collaboration with the Vitoria-Gasteiz Intermodal Transport Centre. The event, called ‘Data to boost intermodal logistics and urban distribution’, will take place on 21 January at the Europa Conference Centre in Vitoria-Gasteiz, and registration is now open.
The conference hopes to show that data spaces, often seen as complex or distant technology, are actually an accessible and strategic tool for improving the efficiency, coneectivity, and sustainability of Álava’s logistics and industrial environment. To do this, the programme will offer a practical view based on real cases, as well as explaining how companies can benefit from the Data Spaces Kit, a public aid scheme to boost their implementation.
The event will begin with a presentation by Mobility LAB director Iñigo Bilbao on the organisation and its work as a hub for innovation in urban mobility and logistics in Álava. Next, Andoni Martín, head of the Digital Transformation Unit at the Álava Computing Centre, will explain what a data space is, as well as its main applications and benefits in the area of logistics.
Later, Leire Balzategui, Technical Manager of Innovation at Mobility LAB, will present two projects already in progress and financed by the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Administration: DATADUM (Data for More Sustainable Urban Goods Distribution) and DATALOG (Data for Intermodal Logistics). Both projects will also be discussed in two specific round tables, which will allow for an in-depth look at their objectives and expected results based on real cases from other cities and companies.
The conference will also include the participation of Adif, which will present some of the main developments in data spaces applied to intermodal logistics. Antonio Aguilar, Deputy Director of Freight Transport Promotion, will discuss advances in the development of rail motorways, a strategic project that will have Álava as a key point on the Iberian Peninsula. He will also present SIMPLE, a digital platform for the integrated and digital management of documents, data and information flows associated with multimodal freight transport.
The closing remarks will be given by Antonio Alcolea, Deputy Director General of Programmes, Governance and Promotion at the Directorate General for Data of the Secretariat of State for Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence, who will explain how to access the Data Spaces Kit, designed to facilitate the implementation of these technological solutions in companies and organisations.
Participation is free, with limited places available, and registration is now available here.
