MOBILITY LAB VITORIA-GASTEIZ IS OPENING ITS EXPERIMENTACTION SPACE FOR THE EIT URBAN MOBILITY INNOVATION CALL

The first deadline for submission of proposals is September 23 and the estimated start date of the project is January 2026

The Fundación Vitoria-Gasteiz Araba Mobility Lab Fundazioa, promoted by the Provincial Council of Álava and the City Council of Vitoria-Gasteiz, opens its doors to innovation projects in mobility and logistics. Mobility Lab invite startups, companies, technology centers, universities, and public entities to submit their proposals within the framework of the Strategic Innovation Open Call 2026–2028 by EIT Urban Mobility.

Mobility Lab offer a unique environment to test, validate, and scale innovative solutions for sustainable mobility within our Living Lab, as well as access to a pioneering Data Space in Spain, focused on both passenger and freight transport.

A Real and Regulated Living Lab to Boost Innovation

Mobility Lab provide a network of physical spaces across the city that simulate laboratory conditions in real and controlled environments. Under a sandbox regulatory framework, these spaces enable:

  • The design and testing of new technologies.
  • The validation of innovative services or business models.
  • The implementation of pilots in safe and collaborative conditions.

A Data Space for Mobility and Logistics

Mobility Lab leads the deployment of one of the first Mobility and Logistics Data Spaces in Spain, aiming to integrate and leverage key data for urban mobility innovation:

  • Access to integrated passenger and freight data.
  • Own catalog of data products available for projects.

What Types of Solutions Does the Call Seek?

The call funds projects addressing one or more of the following priority topics:

  • Sustainable Urban Logistics

Solutions that reduce emissions, congestion, or noise, and improve last-mile efficiency, promoting collaborative models with cities.

Mobility Lab Vitoria-Gasteiz offers a tailored experimentation space across key logistics nodes—such as the Intermodal Transport and Logistics Centre, San Martín Microhub, Central Superblock, and Bus Station—where innovations in autonomous delivery, real-time data management,  sustainable infrastructure can be tested in a living urban environment…
