What is the Green and Sustainable Territory project?

The project is developing the electronics required to generate and integrate green hydrogen into sustainable mobility applications. The work is structured around three complementary technological strands:

- Development of a reconfigurable Setup-In-the-Loop test bench to test scenarios for the generation and consumption of green hydrogen.

- Development of power electronics to connect green hydrogen generation plants to the electricity grid.

- Development of multi-port converters to integrate fuel cells into aeronautical applications.

The challenge: integrating green hydrogen into transport

The introduction of green hydrogen requires electronic systems capable of managing its generation, electrical connection and use under a variety of conditions

  • The need to test systems before they are implemented

Hydrogen generation and consumption systems need to be validated in safe, flexible and controlled test environments

  • Complex integration with the electricity grid

Green hydrogen production plants require converters that enable a stable and suitable connection to the grid

  • Changes to technical requirements

Converters and electronic systems must be adapted to comply with new regulations and operating conditions

  • Integration of different energy sources

Electric aviation applications combine fuel cells, batteries and other systems that must operate in a coordinated manner

Project approach

The project combines experimentation, power electronics and the development of converters to study the integration of green hydrogen into transport

  • Development of reconfigurable test environments
  • Integration of hydrogen plants into the grid
  • Multi-port converters for electric aircraft

This approach enables coordinated work across different technological levels:

  • We tested generation and consumption scenarios using the Setup-In-the-Loop test bench
  • We connect green hydrogen plants to the grid using power electronics
  • We integrate fuel cells and other power sources into aeronautical applications
  • Generamos conocimiento para nuevas aplicaciones y colaboraciones industriales
