DataLOG
Data for intermodal logistics
We connect operators, infrastructures and data to optimise combined goods transport.
What the DataLOG project is
Project aimed at optimising data exchange in combined transport, offering a solution to allow the different stakeholders in the logistics ecosystem to operate in a more efficient, connected and sustainable way.
Driven by Mobility Lab, this facilitates interoperability between operators, infrastructures and logistics platforms, generating a comprehensive overview of the intermodal transport ecosystem. It also drives the transition towards more sustainable logistics models, by encouraging the use of rail and sea transport in line with European decarbonisation targets.
The challenge: connecting a fragmented logistics ecosystem
Intermodal logistics calls for interoperability, visibility and coordination between stakeholders.
-
Poor interoperability between systems
Logistics information is spread across multiple platforms and operators.
-
Lack of comprehensive visibility
Stakeholders do not always have a comprehensive view of the state of operations and goods.
-
Complex, poorly-connected processes
Coordination between modes of transport continues to cause operational inefficiencies.
-
Need for more sustainable models
Europe backs the shift in goods transport towards less polluting modes.
Project focus
DataLOG enables shared data services to allow improved coordination between stakeholders, optimise logistics processes and aid decision-making in intermodal transport.
- Secure data sharing
- Integration between operators and platforms
- Interoperable services for intermodal logistics
- Comprehensive overview of the logistics chain
- Optimising operations and times
This approach makes it possible to connect data and stakeholders in combined transport to develop new digital services aimed at more efficient, sustainable logistics:
-
We facilitate connection between combined transport stakeholders.
-
Interoperability improves management and reduces frictions.
-
We encourage more efficient, less polluting transport systems.
-
Shared information makes it possible to optimise operations and planning.
Aims of the project
To drive more connected, efficient and sustainable intermodal logistics.
-
1
To share data collaboratively and securely.
-
2
To turn data into operational value.
-
3
To boost the efficiency of goods transport.
-
4
To cut costs and operating times.
-
5
To facilitate interoperability between stakeholders.
