He worked for 20 years in the City Council of Vitoria-Gasteiz, participating in projects such as the implementation of the tramway, the integration of the High Speed Railway or the drafting of the Sustainable Mobility Plan. He was a member of the Basque Transport Authority (ATE), an advisor of the municipal transport company TUVISA, a member of the board of trustees of the TECNALIA Foundation and an adviser of the public company GILSA.
He had the privilege of coordinating the activities of Vitoria-Gasteiz as European Green Capital 2012 and his time at the FINNOVA Foundation has given him an interesting insight into EU funds. In addition, as an EC expert, he has participated in programmes such as World Cities, the IURC (International Urban and Regional Cooperation) or EU-Brazil Sector Dialogues.
BSc Civil Engineering from the University of the Basque Country and MS(Eng) Civil Engineering from the University of Cantabria with a MSc(Eng) in Transport Planning and Engineering from the University of Leeds (UK).
Experience in transport planning and modelling and project management in the UK and in the Basque Country, having also held the position of Head of Strategic Areas in the Basque Mobility and Logistics Cluster.
Graduate in Business Administration and Management from the University of the Basque Country and Senior Technician in the Development of Mechanical Projects. Extensive experience as administrative manager, mainly in the construction sector, where he participated in large public works projects.
